“The interventions like mulching, soil moisture conservation, Custom Hiring Centre, etc., are making significant contributions in resilience against the climate change”, highlighted Prof. H.K. Senapati, Chairman, Zonal Monitoring Committee. Prof. Senapati was addressing the “Concluding Zonal Workshop of NICRA KVKs of Zone - V” organized by the ICAR-Agricultural Technology
Application Research Institute, Kolkata today.
Dr. V.K. Singh, Director, ICAR-Central Research Institute for Dryland Agriculture, Hyderabad emphasized on farming system typology based planning and its implementation through a family based approach. He also urged for more crop diversity in the areas of the rice based farming systems.
Dr. S.K. Roy, Director, ICAR-ATARI, Kolkata stated that the intervention under the NICRA should read the vulnerability with existing cropping practices and preventing this vulnerability through NICRA intervention is to be a priority.
The senior officials of ICAR-ATARI, Kolkata also participated in the Workshop.
